Kōnan Ryū Karate Rensei Kai © is an organisation created in 2016 by Yogi Josei sensei for the practice of Kōnan Ryū Karate. The Kōnan Ryū school was created by the master Itokazu Seiki sensei and it is an offshoot school of the Pangainūn (Uechi Ryū) style and has many similarities to it.

The translation of the name of the association would be:

Kōnan:

硬軟

Hard-soft. This is the Japanese reading of the Chinese characters for the name of the kenpō style, learnet by the teacher Uechi Kanbun in China, and that was called Pangainūn (Han Nan, in Japanese), which is translated as Half hard - Half soft. The style Pangainūn was renamed Uechi-ryū in 1940 by Uechi Kanei, son of Uechi Kanbun.

Ryū:

Style.

Karate:

空手

Empty hand. Martial art developed in Okinawa.

Rensei:

錬成

Training.

Kai:

Association or group.

So the translation of the name of the organisation would be: "Association for the practice of Karate Kōnan-ryū style”.

The object of Yogi sensei's organisation is the practice, the popularisation and dissemination of Kōnan-ryū Karate.
